Course Overview

Projects do not occur in a vacuum. There are stakeholders who are funding the project and stakeholders who will benefit from the project result. Often there are many stakeholders. Identifying and managing the relationships with the stakeholders is always a key element of project success. This course explores the attributes of project stakeholder management.

Objectives/Topics

This interactive one-day program will provide tools for identifying stakeholders. Once the stakeholders are known, the elements of a successful stakeholder interaction strategy will be discussed. Stakeholder communication principles will be introduced and practiced. In addition, project team organization, communication, and decision-making tools and techniques will be demonstrated. Finally, techniques for resolving conflict will be presented. The course includes numerous exercises and role plays. This course is consistent with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Book of Knowledge.
