Agile/Scrum Project Management

Course Number: 12-12-RS
Recommended Duration: 2 Days

Course Overview

Agile/Scrum is a project management technique that has gained acceptance in recent years because of its simplified project management structure and its promise for project acceleration. However, the Agile/Scrum approach has its own methodology which must be followed, or the promised benefits will not be realized. In this new methodology, roles of project leaders and team members change. In addition, the project planning process and project tracking are similar to those commonly found in an “Extreme” crisis project rather than in a well-defined and well-ordered project. This approach shatters many of the paradigms of “good” project management – yet when the methodology is understood and used appropriately, it can have significant benefits. This two-day seminar is an interactive introduction to Agile/Scrum project management. Participants will be assigned to a Scrum project team. Each team will conduct a Sprint Planning Meeting, several Scrum Meetings, and a Sprint Review Meeting as part of a case study/simulation that weaves throughout the program. In addition to the case study/simulation workshops, there are lectures and examples used to explain the process and demonstrate the techniques.
